NNLM R4 CONNECTIONS

NNLM R4 CONNECTIONS is a bi-monthly webinar with topics of interest for NNLM Region 4 members.

Upcoming sessions:
Cancelled - May 12, 2022 - 10 AM PT/11 AM MT/12 PM CT/ 1 PM ET

Title: Racial microaggressions: Their effects on mental and physical health.

Due to unforeseen events, our speaker is unable to make our NNLM R4 Connections meeting this Thursday the 12th of May. I do want to apologize and want to assure everyone that I am working closely with her to reschedule this talk given the expressed interest on the topic. She is more than willing to do this talk at a later time, and we are working to re-schedule. As soon as I hear more, I will be in close contact to inform you all the new time and date.

Thank you,

NNLM Region 4 Communications

Guest Speaker: Jaena Alabi

In this session, guest speaker Jaena Alabi will present a brief history of racial microaggressions research, focusing on the negative mental and physical health outcomes associated with experiencing subtle racism.  Strategies for mitigating the negative effects of racial microaggressions, such as incorporating cultural competence into one’s practice of librarianship, will also be shared.

Recordings of past sessions are available on our YouTube channel.
